Family Medicine Physician – Outpatient Primary Care

About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine (or Internal Medicine) physician to join its 100% outpatient primary‑care team in Abita Springs, Louisiana. You will work in a collaborative, multi‑specialty environment focused on improving health outcomes across the Gulf South.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary‑care services to a diverse patient population.
• Oversee a refill center that manages more than 70% of prescription refills.
• Leverage LPN Care Coordinators and Outpatient Care Managers to close care gaps and address social determinants of health.
• Utilize Ochsner On‑Call, remote‑messaging nurses, and digital‑medicine tools to reduce documentation and call burden.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and community health initiatives.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Med/Peds, or Med/Psych.
• Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
• Experience using digital‑medicine platforms for chronic‑condition management.
