Factory Project Controller - 38kV Switchgear

About the role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Unit Manager, this role supports ABB's manufacturing of 38kV switchgear in Houston, Texas. You will lead the execution of medium-sized projects (from $500K to $5M), act as the main contact for order-related matters with external stakeholders, and ensure activities follow procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets. The work model is hybrid, based at a facility in Pasadena, Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Review orders with the proposal team from a technical and commercial standpoint and ensure customer requirements match contractual obligations.
• Handle quotations and change orders: initiate price change requests, apply mark-ups, prepare quotations and implement schedule changes.
• Manage the full order cycle: scheduling, drawing delivery, shop execution, on-time shipment, invoicing coordination and closing.
• Monitor project financials, invoicing status, costs, expenses and cash flow, and support shipped margin opportunities.
• Resolve disputes on invoicing, back charges, escalations, delays and warranty charges under general direction.
• Identify, qualify and manage risks and pursue opportunities.
• Provide progress updates to stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (required).
• 5+ years of experience in electrification, manufacturing or project management.
• Prior manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and knowledge of power systems and protection.
• Work authorization to work for ABB in the United States; about 5% travel.
