Engineering Technician – Power Generation

About the role

The Engineering Technician will support power generation projects by coordinating engineering activities, maintaining documentation, and assisting senior engineers with design and execution tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Review project scope and customer specifications before kickoff and create standard document submittal lists.
• Monitor engineering hours, schedule adherence, and report on project progress.
• Provide initial P&ID mark‑ups, complete pipe specifications, and assist with bill of materials, drawing reviews, and equipment inspections.
• Manage engineering document control, transmittals, and coordinate with project management, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality control.
• Track engineering action items, support corrective actions for non‑conformances, equipment shortages, and design changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2 years experience, or 7 years experience in lieu of a degree.
• Self‑motivated with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA drawings, and electrical schematics.
• BOM development and review, equipment datasheet and vendor documentation analysis.
• AutoCAD/Plant 3D or similar design tools.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, IFS, Oracle) and document management systems.
• Understanding of mechanical design, thermodynamics, instrumentation & controls, and applicable industry codes.
