Engineering Technician - Power Generation

About the role

Enerflex is seeking an Engineering Technician to support power generation projects. The role involves coordinating engineering activities, reviewing specifications, and assisting senior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review project scope and customer specifications prior to kickoff and maintain the standard project Document Submittal list (VRDL).
• Monitor engineering hours, schedule adherence, and report progress; review turn‑in and purchase orders for accuracy and costing.
• Provide initial P&ID mark‑ups, complete and submit pipe specifications, and assist with bill of materials, drawing reviews, equipment inspections, manuals, and datasheets.
• Manage engineering document control, transmittals, and coordinate with project management, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality control.
• Track engineering action items, support corrective actions for non‑conformances, equipment shortages, and design changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 2 years experience, or 7 years experience in lieu of a degree.
• Self‑motivated, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Foundational knowledge of mechanical design, thermodynamics, and instrumentation & controls.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA drawings, and electrical schematics.
• BOM development and review, equipment datasheets, and vendor documentation analysis.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Plant 3D or similar design tools.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, IFS, Oracle.
• Familiarity with document management systems and applicable industry codes and standards.
