Engineering Technician (Construction)

About the role

The Engineering Technician provides specialized engineering support for construction contracts within the Department of the Navy. This position involves field work on complex, time‑sensitive construction projects supporting military missions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply technical expertise in construction engineering disciplines.
• Apply knowledge of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and agency regulations.
• Provide engineering support services between military personnel and private contractors.
• Support management and administration of complex construction projects in various locations.

Required profile

• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS‑09 level (or equivalent) demonstrating construction engineering expertise.
• Experience coordinating construction quality‑management programs and enforcing contractor safety requirements.
• Ability to evaluate quality‑control efforts, report discrepancies, and enforce safety procedures.
