Engineering Manager – Sustaining Enabling Technologies

About the role

Enovis is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Sustaining – Enabling Technologies team in Austin, TX. The role leads sustaining engineering activities for mechanical surgical instruments, electronic hardware and software, while also contributing hands‑on to prototype development and testing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project prioritization, resource allocation and multiple concurrent development projects.
• Mentor and coach engineering staff, providing technical guidance and performance management.
• Develop product designs, 3‑D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
• Maintain Design History Files and support regulatory submissions (FDA 510(k), EU MDR, etc.).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s preferred) with 8+ years of experience in a regulated medical‑device environment.
• Experience leading engineers and delivering orthopedic or enabling‑technology products.
• Proven ability to manage moderate to large‑scope projects and work cross‑functionally.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (3‑D CAD) and 3‑D modeling.
• Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, Project.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820 quality systems.
