Surgical R&D Co‑Op – 1‑Year Program in Austin

About the role

Enovis is seeking a motivated student to join its Surgical R&D team for a one‑year, full‑time co‑op in Austin, Texas. You will work closely with product development engineers, surgeons, and cross‑functional teams to help bring new orthopedic devices from concept to market.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in identifying surgeon requirements and translating them into product characteristics.
• Create and modify 3‑D models and detailed CAD drawings for new device concepts.
• Develop design documentation, including Design History Files, validation plans, and test reports.
• Support prototype fabrication using 3D printing or metal machining and coordinate with internal or external vendors.
• Participate in surgeon symposia, focus groups, and KOL meetings to gather feedback.
• Maintain project plans, track progress, and report status to engineering management.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering program (mechanical track) with at least two years completed.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Strong interest in medical devices and orthopedics.
