HIM Birth Registrar Associate

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is hiring an onsite HIM Birth Registrar Associate at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin. The associate delivers customer service to patients, healthcare professionals and payers while keeping all patient information confidential, and prepares, scans and organizes medical record information so that health information and data are completed accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and process applications for birth certificates.
• Verify identification and documentation to ensure legal compliance and authenticity.
• Enter and update vital records information in secure databases.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all vital records.
• Retrieve charts from all patient care areas, reconcile them and follow up on missing documentation.
• Prepare, scan, index and validate the quality of medical records.
• Update spreadsheets and data systems with current content.
• Provide caring and compassionate customer service.

Required profile

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) or vital records systems.
• Ability to uphold patient confidentiality.

What we offer

• Base pay of $17.60 - $25.25 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education.
