Electro-Mechanical Engineer – Automotive Electronics

About the role

Compal USA is looking for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join its Automotive Electronic Products (AEP) team in Goleta, California. The role focuses on designing and developing electro‑mechanical assemblies, thermal‑imaging cameras and sensor devices for commercial and automotive vehicle applications.

Key responsibilities

• Detailed design and fabrication of product designs that meet module integration and validation testing requirements.
• Create custom mechanisms and adapt low‑cost off‑the‑shelf components to build reliable infrared camera systems.
• Lead component fabrication and integration, resolve issues, support development and validation testing, and manage transition‑to‑production activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and engineering interns.

Required profile

• 5 to 10+ years of experience in multi‑disciplinary mechanical engineering design, analysis, simulation, fabrication and validation of complex electro‑mechanical components, sensors and cameras.
• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• SolidWorks expertise with ability to translate concepts into manufacturable designs.
• Experience with fabrication and assembly methods such as 3D printing, precise machining and material selection.
• Proven track record deploying mechanical components in high‑volume manufacturing.
• Experience managing internal and external development resources within budget and schedule.
• Collaborative mindset.
