About the role
Dematic is seeking a Controls Engineering Intern/Co‑Op to support its Customer Service Modernizations & Upgrades group. The role is based in Grand Rapids, MI, with 40‑50% travel to customer sites across the USA.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in designing routine systems that integrate hardware and software.
- Support lead engineers with project documentation, start‑up, commissioning, and testing of material handling systems.
- Perform software PLC emulation and testing, and follow standard work practices.
Required profile
- Currently pursuing a BS/BA in Engineering.
- Up to 4 years of related experience or academic projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
Required skills
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, or Schneider preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with CAD and SAP applications.
