Continuous Improvement Leader

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense group is seeking a Continuous Improvement Leader to drive operational excellence across its manufacturing sites. Reporting to the Value Stream Manager, you will work onsite in Blacksburg, VA, applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance processes, reduce waste, and support the company’s mission of equipping those who defend freedom.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Lean Six Sigma projects that improve business and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate and facilitate improvement activities, converting strategic goals into actionable plans.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities, execute plans, and track results.
• Develop, standardize, and maintain continuous improvement tools, metrics, and documentation.
• Support teams in implementing area improvements, including 5S, material flow, and Kanban systems.
• Create and monitor annual improvement plans and performance dashboards.
• Travel up to 10% to other facilities, customers, and suppliers as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience applying continuous improvement tools with a Lean Six Sigma focus in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to use statistical evaluation techniques, process capability analysis, and performance metrics to drive decisions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to influence cross‑functional teams without direct supervisory authority.
