Manufacturing Engineer I

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support the Motors production line and outsource vendors. The role is based onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, and involves collaboration with domestic and international teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Motors production line and outsource vendors.
• Oversee manufacturing process development with domestic and international teams.
• Create engineering and tool drawings, order and support manufacturing tooling, develop work instructions, labor standards, facility layout, and quotes.
• Review and respond to requests for quotes on new orders.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and suggest improvements for manufacturability.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Provide regular performance reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong communication with internal and external customers and cross‑functional disciplines.
