About the role

The Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation at Georgetown University is seeking a Communications Manager to shape and execute an integrated communications strategy that amplifies its work in digital government, data, benefits access, and emerging technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy that highlights the Center’s work in digital government, data, benefits access and emerging technology.
• Translate complex, technical concepts into clear, compelling, human‑centered narratives across multiple channels.
• Collaborate with the Director of Communications, development, marketing, student analysts and external contractors to ensure consistent messaging.
• Represent the communications team in strategic planning discussions with campus partners and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and 3‑5 years of experience in communications, journalism, public affairs or a related field.
• Proactive, highly organized professional with strong initiative and ability to coordinate across fast‑moving, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Exceptional writer and editor with keen attention to voice, tone and audience.
• Systems thinker who can bring structure to ambiguity and manage multiple complex projects.

Required skills

• Google Workspace and AP Style.
• Project‑management tools such as Airtable, Asana, Slack and Miro.
• Email and web platforms including Mailchimp, WordPress and Google Analytics/GA4.
• Social‑media management tools like LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, Bluesky, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meltwater and Cision.
• Design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign) and Figma.

What we offer

• Hybrid work model with two days per week on‑site at the Beeck Center offices in Washington, D.C.
• Competitive salary range of $47,586 – $87,558 per year.
