Carpet and Floor Care Specialist

About the role

The Carpet and Floor Care Specialist provides essential cleaning and maintenance services across Georgetown University’s campuses. Working 40 hours per week, the incumbent follows a detailed cleaning plan to ensure a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general and specific floor cleaning tasks according to the campus cleaning schedule.
• Remove snow and ice, and respond to water or fire damage cleanup as needed.
• Support special events by preparing and restoring floor areas.
• Clean between 28,000 and 35,000 square feet of space each eight‑hour shift using standard custodial tools and equipment.
• Observe all safety rules, regulations, and precautions while operating floor‑care machinery.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team under supervisor guidance.
