Carpenter - Scaffolding

About the role

Carpenters are responsible for constructing, building and installing scaffolding structures. The position reports to the General Foreman/Superintendent and works under the direction of the Scaffolding Foreman.

Key responsibilities

• Read prints, specifications and written and verbal instructions, and follow the Scaffolding Foreman's directions to understand the scope of work and report potential problems.
• Carry out all requirements of the Apache Safety Manual, site-specific and customer-specific requirements, and document compliance with specifications, guidelines and programs.
• Perform work consistently with Apache, client and regulatory requirements.
• Inspect every scaffold component thoroughly; any defect found requires removal of services.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolds according to industry standards and manufacturer, OSHA, Apache and client recommendations, and inspect completed scaffolds before tagging.
• Update scaffold tags at the start of each shift or more often if required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the industry.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and to complete required paperwork.
• Ability to lift heavy items, squat and climb, and to work for extended periods in extreme weather.
• Ability to maintain basic field equipment such as air compressors, man lifts and forklifts.
• Strong team player with a positive attitude, demonstrated commitment and a strong attendance record.
