Carpenter Foreman

About the role

The Carpenter Foreman will lead a crew of 3‑15 construction employees at the Belmont Pump Station in Woodbridge, VA. This role oversees all carpentry activities, including the construction and installation of wood, plywood, wallboard, and related structures for commercial, industrial, and heavy‑civil projects.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the carpentry crew.
• Schedule work and communicate timelines with other trades.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications to determine construction requirements.
• Locate, measure, and mark site locations for structures and equipment.
• Record personnel, production, and operational data on required forms.
• Assist workers with hand tools and equipment as needed.
• Inspect work progress and site conditions to ensure safety and compliance with specifications.
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain a drug‑free work environment.
• Train and mentor crew on company policies, safety practices, and procedures.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of verifiable construction experience.
• Preferred 5 years of foreman or supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage crews and subcontractors.
• Effective communication with crew, project managers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Physical ability to climb scaffolds/ladders, lift up to 50 lb, and work in adverse weather.
• Willingness to pass a pre‑employment drug screening.

Required skills

• Proficiency with carpentry hand tools.
• Experience using power tools and woodworking machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Competence with measuring and marking equipment.
