About the role

Rescale is looking for a systems‑oriented Backend Software Engineer to own end‑to‑end delivery of core functionality for its customers and to rapidly prototype new product ideas.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain critical backend services such as identity management, elastic cloud workstations, and workflow automation.
Build and sustain high‑quality automation for building and testing the main customer‑facing platform.
Optimize web performance through ORM and database profiling, and ensure robust application security.

Required profile

2+ years of experience building and operating performant, non‑trivial backend systems in production.
Strong interest in cloud deployment, scaling web applications, and rapid proof‑of‑concept prototyping.
BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

Backend development with performance optimization (ORM, DB profiling).
Deploying and scaling applications using cloud services.
Application security best practices.
