Assistant Professor of Computer Science (Tenure-Track)

About the role

Cal Poly Pomona, in the Department of Computer Science within the College of Science, is hiring one tenure-track Assistant Professor for a position starting in Fall 2027. The appointment is full time, on site, and falls under Unit 3 of the California Faculty Association bargaining unit. The anticipated salary range is $102,008 to $108,048.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and contribute to curricular development.
• Maintain an active research program involving undergraduate and/or master's students.
• Take part in department and university services.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited university, conferred by the start date of the position.
• Potential to establish an active research program and to teach a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Preferred: university teaching experience, including teaching assistant experience, and experience conducting research with students.
• Preference given to candidates in AI, Generative AI, Physical AI, NLP, Machine and Deep Learning, Computer Vision, or applying AI to other CS subfields; other CS areas are also strongly encouraged to apply.
