Assistant Plant Operator

About the role

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and responsible Assistant Plant Operator to support daily plant operations. You will work closely with the Plant Operator to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation of boilers and auxiliary equipment while complying with environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Operator in daily operation and maintenance of plant equipment.
• Investigate instrument readings and equipment performance, notifying supervisors of any inconsistencies.
• Perform regular turbine/generator APC inspections and other critical checks.
• Document plant activities, log entries, and problem‑tracking notes accurately.
• Operate and adjust the demineralization system, conduct water testing, and apply boiler water chemistry adjustments.
• Operate the APC system, adjusting performance to meet or exceed facility averages.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and complete required training programs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• At least 2 years of power‑plant operation experience or 3 years of related experience.
• Mechanical aptitude for tasks such as shear‑pin replacement, valve repacking, and equipment inspections.
• Knowledge of steam‑generating power‑plant operations and related safety standards.
• Ability to obtain any licenses required by local, state, federal, environmental, or health‑safety agencies.
