Aerospace Integration Technician
venusaero · Houston
Job description
About the role
Venus Aerospace is looking for a highly skilled Aerospace Integration Technician to support its move from R&D to scalable production of next-generation propulsion systems. The role is hands-on and technically demanding, suited to someone who enjoys fast iteration and wants to help build the foundation of future production capabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Perform detailed assembly, alignment and integration of propulsion system hardware, including combustion components, fluid routing and instrumentation
- Carry out precision mechanical operations: torquing, clocking, fixturing, alignment verification and critical-to-quality measurements
- Assist in developing and maturing build processes, identifying workflow improvements, creating repeatable procedures and supporting early production tooling and fixture development
- Integrate electrical harnessing, sensors and instrumentation, paying attention to routing, shielding and environmental constraints
- Run system-level checkouts including leak checks, continuity tests, pressure checks and instrumentation validation
- Support test operations by preparing hardware, making configuration changes, troubleshooting issues and ensuring integration integrity
- Document builds, capture deviations and work with engineering to refine designs, tolerances and manufacturability
- Help establish best practices from prototype hardware install to a stable production baseline
Required profile
- Hands-on experience with precision-machined components such as rocket engines, ICE engines or jet engines, and valves and high-pressure fluid systems
- Experience assembling and integrating fluid systems
- Familiarity with clean-build standards, contamination control and aerospace-quality mechanical workmanship
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical and fluid subsystems
- Comfortable in an R&D environment where designs evolve rapidly, and able to contribute to repeatable production processes
- Attention to detail, strong communication and a safety-first mindset
Required skills
- Interpretation of complex CAD drawings, schematics, assembly models, fluid system diagrams and engineering work instructions
- Precision tools: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, borescopes, dial indicators, torque tools and alignment instruments
- Preferred: experience with liquid-propellant rocket engines or pressure-fed propulsion systems, validating tolerances, torque specs, flange alignment, seals and pressure-rated fittings
- Preferred: developing assembly sequences, QC checkpoints, torque patterns and contamination-control steps, and designing tooling and fixtures for propulsion assembly
- Preferred: integrating harnessing, sensors, ignition systems and test instrumentation with proper shielding, routing, connector clocking and thermal-protection considerations
