Activity Sponsor (High School/Middle School) – 2026‑27

About the role

The Activity Sponsor provides leadership and supervision for extracurricular programs at the high school or middle school level. This position designs, implements, and evaluates activities that align with district policies, while serving as a positive role model and liaison between the school, community, and partner organizations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement program activities based on analysis of competition strategies, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Supervise students during all aspects of the program, ensuring safety and adherence to rules.
• Develop practice schedules, team strategies, and individual skill‑building regimes.
• Maintain records such as student statistics, insurance forms, emergency information, and equipment inventories.
• Monitor academic eligibility and provide interventions as needed.
• Evaluate facilities for hazards and recommend modifications to reduce injury risk.
• Guide and mentor other activity sponsors in instructional techniques and supervision practices.
• Coordinate parent orientations, recognition events, and other supporting activities.

Required profile

• Experience working with middle‑school or high‑school students in an extracurricular or coaching capacity.
• Ability to assess student performance, provide feedback, and determine appropriate activity placement.
• Strong organizational skills for managing schedules, records, and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and facility evaluation procedures.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with parents, staff, and community partners.
