Software Engineer (Hybrid – Beaverton or Boston)

About the role

NIKE is seeking a Software Engineer contractor to join its digital product teams. The role is hybrid, with onsite work Monday‑Thursday, and focuses on building consumer‑facing features and internal tools across e‑commerce, mobile, AI tooling, and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full‑stack or backend features using Python, TypeScript, and React.
• Build and operate distributed systems and APIs that handle millions of requests.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and ensure infrastructure reliability with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering decision‑making.

Required profile

• 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or React, preferably across more than one.
• Experience with AWS and cloud‑native development.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Track record of working in distributed systems or micro‑services environments.
• AWS certification or AI/ML tooling experience is a plus.
