Postdoctoral Research Associate in AI‑Supported STEM Education

About the role

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will join the NSF CAREER project 3AforCT at Texas A&M University. The project partners with rural middle schools to co‑design AI‑guided STEM investigations that develop computational thinking and evidence‑based solutions to agricultural and environmental challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct school‑based fieldwork, including data collection, teacher co‑design sessions, and classroom implementation.
• Perform mixed‑methods and multimodal analysis of student learning, teacher practice, and AI‑support usability.
• Coordinate project activities across multiple sites and mentor junior researchers.
• Contribute to scholarly publications, conference presentations, and open educational resources.

Required profile

• PhD in learning sciences, educational technology, computing education, educational psychology, curriculum and instruction, STEM education, or a closely related field by the start date.
• Research experience in K‑12 STEM or computing education, computational thinking, AI‑supported learning, or related areas.
• Experience with design‑based or classroom implementation research, including teacher co‑design.
