MPI Estimator

About the role

McWane Plant & Industrial (MPI), a newly created division of McWane Inc. based in Birmingham, AL, is hiring an Estimator. The position reports to the Estimation Manager and focuses on reviewing incoming plans, drawings and specifications to identify opportunities and projects, then producing precise, accurate quotations for MPI.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee specification reviews of incoming plans and measure quotations for general contract review.
• Review drawings and blueprints to produce a comprehensive product takeoff and accurate quotes.
• Communicate estimations and modifications across McWane divisions and facilities to meet customer and deadline demands.
• Work with Regional Sales Managers and representatives to produce quotations.
• Contact third-party vendors to obtain actuation costs for valve quotes where required, and coordinate with painting and accessory vendors on special paints and accessories.

Required profile

• Associate's degree, preferably in business, engineering, estimation or an equivalent field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Project management experience and ability to prioritize multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Detail-oriented, able to read documents, engineering drawings and specifications; mechanical aptitude or engineering background.
• Valid driver's license with no major violations.
• Desired: Bachelor's degree, previous estimating experience in the wastewater industry, and familiarity with legal contracts and legal teams.
