Intake Paralegal

About the role

Amentum is hiring an Intake Paralegal to prepare claim files for claim review attorneys. The work is done under close supervision, following standard operating procedures and guidelines, and involves handling claimant documentation and maintaining case files.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and prepare supporting documentation for claim review attorneys, including discovery and claims processing in the CMS system of record
• Review incoming correspondence for completeness and PII compliance before uploading to CMS
• Combine claimant documentation and ensure all relevant documents, amendments and transcripts are included, with required fields filled out
• Maintain, index, track and control electronic and hard copy case files for the claim review attorney
• Perform simple legal research using CPC, MML and CORA
• Review PII reports, data discrepancies and claim forms for relevance and privilege
• Collect, compile and sort documents such as file requests, correspondence, appeal transcripts and hearing exhibits

Required profile

• MRPT facility credentials or authorization (US citizenship required at this location)
• Paralegal certificate, JD, or enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study; one year of legal training or experience or two years of college education may substitute for the certificate
• At least one year of litigation paralegal or project experience related to the task order
• Ability to work alone or in a team with supervisory support, following intake SOPs

Required skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat and Google Chrome
• Excellent writing skills and oral communication
