Industrial Hygienist

About the role

BASF is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join its Agricultural Solutions team at the Hannibal site in Palmyra, MO. The role focuses on occupational safety and industrial hygiene for the manufacturing of crop‑protection chemicals, supporting both the local site and other North‑American facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Hazard Communication (HazCom) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) programs.
• Conduct industrial hygiene exposure assessments, including noise and radiation safety evaluations.
• Oversee asbestos management, medical monitoring, respiratory protection, and PPE programs.
• Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and liaise with regulatory agencies.
• Provide technical guidance on OSHA and ACGIH compliance across BASF crop‑protection sites.

Required profile

• B.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Chemistry or a related field.
• Ability to obtain Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification within two years.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and occasionally to Canada or Mexico.
