Hotel Guest Services Agent (Front Desk)

About the role

The Huntington Hilton in Melville, NY is hiring a Hotel Guest Services Agent (front desk) to check guests in and out and provide courteous, professional service. The position pays $17-$19 per hour and requires availability to cover shifts, including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Assist guests with arrival and departure, register them and confirm the number of guests and room rate
• Handle cash and credit card transactions and process guest accounts at checkout
• Document guest requests, complaints or problems and notify the relevant departments
• Resolve guest issues and special requests, negotiating compromises when needed
• Generate and print daily and weekly reports and resolve room status discrepancies with Housekeeping
• Answer the telephone, input and retrieve messages, and deliver mail and small packages
• Maintain confidentiality of guest information and apply brand standards to all guest interactions

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred 1 year of hotel experience
• Previous hotel front desk experience and ONQ system experience required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends, and to attend scheduled training
• Regular attendance, good personal appearance and command of written and spoken English
