Development Officer, Individual Giving (East Coast & Midwest)

About the role

Habitat for Humanity International is seeking a Development Officer focused on Individual Giving for the East Coast and Midwest. In this senior fundraising position you will build and steward relationships with high‑net‑worth donors, securing major gifts that advance the organization’s mission of ending the global housing crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high‑net‑worth individuals, targeting five‑figure and larger gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of 125‑150 qualified donors and prospects across a defined U.S. territory.
• Meet or exceed an annual revenue goal of $800,000 through proactive engagement and relationship management.
• Design solicitation plans for major gifts, including diaspora, campaign, planned, and endowment gifts.
• Prepare compelling donor proposals and oversee stewardship and reporting.
• Maintain accurate donor data, pipeline reports, and revenue forecasts in the CRM system.
• Collaborate with board members, executives, donors, and cross‑functional teams to expand giving opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of successful fundraising experience, including at least 3 years in frontline major‑gift development.
• Proven record of closing five‑ and six‑figure commitments and managing complex donor relationships.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills.
• Experience working within a matrixed, global organization.
