About the role
B Capital is looking for a Vice President/Director to lead its Capital Formation team. Reporting to the Managing Director, this senior fundraising position focuses on building relationships with strategic investors and raising capital for funds and co‑investments in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment.
Key responsibilities
- Originate, drive, and close new limited partner (LP) commitments across institutional, family office, wealth management, and high‑net‑worth channels.
- Manage the full fundraising cycle: prospect mapping, relationship nurturing, outreach leadership, and diligence coordination through to close.
- Partner with the MD of Capital Formation, Investor Relations, and investment leadership to refine fund positioning and tailor messaging for different LP segments.
- Prepare and customize fundraising materials, including presentations, data‑room content, DDQs, RFPs, and portfolio analyses.
- Maintain a high‑quality pipeline and CRM discipline, tracking interactions, feedback, and probability‑weighted opportunities.
- Leverage relationships with gatekeepers and intermediaries such as consultants, private banks, placement agents, and other capital partners.
- Represent B Capital at LP meetings, conferences, and industry events as a credible front‑line fundraiser.
Required profile
- 6–10 years of capital‑raising experience in venture capital, private equity, private credit, or related alternatives.
- Proven track record raising capital from endowments, foundations, pension funds, funds of funds, wealth managers, or family offices.
- BS/BA degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Strong project‑management abilities and capacity to run multiple fundraising processes in parallel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for sophisticated institutional audiences.
- High professionalism, judgment, and discretion in handling LP relationships.
- Willingness to be based in New York City, San Francisco, or Los Angeles.
- Interest or experience in technology investing is highly desired.
