Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis serves as the strategic financial conscience of Shake Shack, partnering directly with the CFO and executive team to shape growth, investment, and long‑term shareholder commitments. This senior leader owns enterprise FP&A, long‑range planning, unit economics, and the strategic finance partnership that drives key decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead enterprise financial planning, including the annual operating plan, quarterly reforecast cycles, monthly close commentary, and multi‑year long‑range plan.
• Act as a true business partner to the executive team, translating operational ambition into financial commitments and financial constraints into operational priorities.
• Drive deep analytics on unit economics such as price/mix/traffic, labor productivity, food and paper costs, four‑wall margin, AUV ramp curves, cohort performance, and channel profitability.
• Head the Strategy & Enterprise Planning function, developing a multi‑year financial framework that aligns strategy, capital plan, P&L outlook, and shareholder expectations.
• Collaborate with Investor Relations to craft the financial narrative for earnings, guidance, Investor Day, and Board materials, ensuring decision‑ready analyses for each quarterly cycle.
• Build and mentor a best‑in‑class FP&A organization, creating a pipeline of next‑generation finance leaders.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leader with extensive FP&A experience in a fast‑growing, consumer‑focused organization.
• Strong strategic mindset, able to translate business goals into financial plans and vice‑versa.
• Exceptional partnership skills with C‑suite executives and cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, high‑performing finance teams and develop talent.
