U.S. Army Perioperative Nurse (Active Duty/Reserve)

About the role

The U.S. Army is seeking qualified perioperative nurses to join its surgical teams. You will provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures, supporting both active‑duty and reserve units.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organize nursing services for surgical patients.
• Supervise patient experience throughout the operative journey.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff.
• Maintain clinical, safety, and documentation standards.
• Participate in training, research, and educational activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an ACEN, CCNE, or NLN‑approved program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license and successful NCLEX completion.
• At least 1 year of full‑time perioperative nursing experience for Active Duty applicants, or 6 months RN experience within the past year for Reserve applicants.
• U.S. citizenship for Active Duty service.
• Completion of the 66E Perioperative Nursing Course or documented equivalent experience.
