Travel Construction Superintendent – Texas Retail Projects

About the role

The Travel Construction Superintendent leads field operations for big‑box retail renovation and new‑build projects across Texas. This role involves extensive travel, coordinating multiple trades, and ensuring projects meet schedule, safety, quality, and documentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day field operations for assigned retail renovation and new‑construction projects.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal teams to meet schedule, quality, and safety goals.
• Enforce site safety programs, conduct daily safety meetings, and ensure OSHA and company compliance.
• Develop and maintain short‑term and long‑term project schedules, proactively managing risks.
• Manage project documentation including RFIs, Change Orders, Submittals, Daily Reports, Meeting Minutes, and Closeout Packages.
• Utilize Procore as the primary platform for tracking progress, documentation, and communication.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, owners, and leadership via Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
• Resolve field conflicts efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with trades and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement by creating and refining field processes.
• Monitor construction quality throughout the build and support turnover, inspections, and closeout activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably on big‑box retail renovations or ground‑up builds.
• Proven ability to lead field teams and manage multiple trades.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and scheduling.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Texas.
