Estimator – Construction Projects

About the role
The Estimator prepares comprehensive proposals that include cost, technical, and commercial components. You will analyse blueprints, specifications, and related documents to develop accurate time, cost, and labour estimates for products, projects, or services, supporting both plant operations and construction sites.
Key responsibilities
- Review bid documents and client specifications to determine material and labour requirements.
- Prepare itemised lists, compute cost factors, and generate estimates for planning, scheduling, and bid submission.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss estimates, resolve issues, and secure support.
- Conduct pre‑job checklists, define scope of work, and coordinate the estimating team.
- Perform quantity take‑offs, develop project bid schedules, and promote constructability brainstorming.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposal approaches and ensure contract terms are reviewed.
Required profile
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb (occasionally 50 lb) and work in varied conditions, including uneven terrain and adverse weather.
- Capability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and operate on steel/wood frameworks.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with management, clients, and vendors.
- Aptitude for mathematical calculations and reading technical documents.
