Trainer – Windsor Explosive Detection Canine (EDC)

About the role

The Windsor Explosive Detection Canine (EDC) Trainer will join Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services at the Windsor, Connecticut training facility. Reporting to the Director of Canine Training, the role combines EDC training, imprinting, and instructor duties to ensure the highest standards of explosive detection canine performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assess each canine’s behavior, strengths, and weaknesses and adapt training methods accordingly.
• Identify fast‑track candidates and design accelerated development plans.
• Collaborate with existing Windsor canine training staff to streamline imprinting, pairing, and handler instruction.
• Work with the Director of Canine Training and management to select the most suitable canines for progression.
• Research, test, and implement cutting‑edge training techniques and tools.
• Continuously monitor scientific advances in explosive detection and integrate new methods into the program.
