Tax Manager

About the role

The Fund Tax Manager will lead tax compliance and reporting for Invesco's registered investment companies, including ETFs and mutual funds. Working closely with Fund Accounting, Portfolio Management, Legal, Finance and external providers, you will ensure accurate, timely and compliant tax filings while driving process improvements and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Review federal, state, excise and foreign tax returns for registered investment companies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Validate tax provisions and disclosures in annual financial statements.
• Oversee tax analysis affecting distributions, including book‑tax differences, wash sales, straddles, PFICs, foreign tax credits and excise calculations.
• Monitor monthly, quarterly and annual distributions for compliance with IRS and SEC requirements, including Section 19 notices.
• Coordinate RIC qualification testing for income, asset diversification and distribution requirements.
• Assess tax implications of fund mergers, reorganizations and ownership changes, including carryforwards and limitation analyses.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives, strengthen internal controls and implement automation solutions.
• Supervise and develop tax staff, providing technical guidance on complex fund tax matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading tax compliance for registered investment companies or similar investment products.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, excise and foreign tax regulations.
• Ability to analyze complex tax issues related to distributions, mergers and reorganizations.
• Experience supervising and mentoring tax professionals.
• Demonstrated track record of driving process improvements and automation.
