About the role
The Systems Engineer/Systems Engineering Database (SEDB) Administrator is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the requirements management database. This role supports system engineers with schema development, automation, performance tuning, cloud instantiation, and backup operations while ensuring compliance with licensing and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and upgrade the SEDB server and client installations.
- Manage metadata, repository utilization, and user security profiles.
- Develop and modify project schema structures, queries, and views throughout the project lifecycle.
- Configure and improve workflows through automation and custom development.
- Provide guidance on systems engineering documentation, including concepts of operations, requirements specifications, and interface control documents.
- Offer subject‑matter expertise in SysML and UML modeling.
- Coordinate system upgrades, performance optimization, and security policy implementation across divisions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Naval Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance.
- 1‑5 years of experience with SEDB tools (preferably Jama Connect) and schema development.
- Experience supporting DoDAF, Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA), and requirements management processes.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Required skills
- Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Jama Connect or 3SL Cradle configuration and workflow development.
- SysML and UML modeling.
- DoDAF and SOA knowledge.
- Database administration, schema development, and scripting/automation.
- Cloud instantiation and performance monitoring.
