Software Engineer II

About the role

OTECH produces and maintains unique underwater systems for U.S. Navy and other Department of Defense customers. Projects are one‑of‑a‑kind, ranging from quick‑burn prototypes to full lifecycle management of fielded systems. The ideal candidate has several years of software experience in a team environment and can work independently while introducing design improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Apply working knowledge of the software lifecycle.
• Design, write and integrate software CSU’s to the defined software architecture.
• Provide feedback on software design choices and lead small sub‑groups within the program’s software team.
• Maintain project CDRL’s, including requirements management, documentation, unit, safety and qualification testing.
• Support software testing on the factory floor, off‑site and offshore, and prepare reports for stakeholders.

Required profile

• BS degree in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of C# software lifecycle engineering experience.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.
