Special Education Teacher (Resource) – 0.5 FTE

About the role

This part‑time (0.5 FTE) position supports the Resource service pathway at John Stanford International Elementary. Working under the direction of the principal or program manager, the teacher creates an inclusive learning environment for special‑education students and adapts curriculum to meet individual needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans that align with district guidelines and special‑education regulations.
• Utilize appropriate instructional methods and materials, modifying programs as needed to support student learning.
• Establish classroom policies, provide guidance, counseling, and discipline, and refer students for additional support when required.
• Maintain regular communication with students, parents, guardians, specialists, and staff to foster positive relationships and monitor progress.
• Collect and interpret data, develop and evaluate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and prepare progress reports.
• Supervise non‑certificated personnel and address students' physical, emotional, behavioral, and medical needs.
