Secondary PE Teacher (Female Preferred)

About the role

The Vacaville Unified School District is seeking a dedicated Secondary Physical Education teacher to join our high school faculty. This full‑time, onsite position focuses on delivering a high‑quality, inclusive PE curriculum for grades 9‑12, with a preference for female candidates to support our diversity goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging physical education lessons aligned with state standards.
• Promote a safe, supportive environment that encourages student participation and lifelong fitness.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, counselors, and administrators to integrate health and wellness initiatives.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading records, and equipment inventories.
• Participate in extracurricular sports, coaching, and district‑wide events as needed.

Required profile

• Valid California teaching credential in Physical Education.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, families, and staff.
• Ability to foster a sense of belonging and community among students.

Required skills

• Knowledge of secondary‑level PE curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Proficiency in classroom management and student assessment.
• First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
