Special Agent – STEM Engineering Background

About the role

Use your STEM engineering background to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent. You will apply software development and technical expertise to investigate cyber‑attacks, terrorism, fraud and other national security threats.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity incidents, and public safety threats.
• Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
• Develop and maintain liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial and international law‑enforcement agencies.
• Maintain required physical fitness to perform law‑enforcement duties.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen eligible for Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in engineering or a related STEM field.
• Willingness to travel as required and meet FBI employment eligibility requirements.
