Shift Supervisor - Night Shift

About the role

The Shift Supervisor leads Waabi’s night‑shift operations at the Lancaster, Texas terminal, overseeing autonomous truck testing and commercial freight runs. As the senior on‑site leader, you ensure safety, compliance, and smooth handoff to the day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end night‑shift activities for Vehicle Operators and Fleet Specialists, coordinating with Dispatch to meet KPIs.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of operators, handling performance reviews, scheduling, time‑off requests, and corrective actions.
• Enforce safety and compliance standards, including pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, ELD logs, and Enhanced Inspection Program requirements.
• Monitor crew fatigue, enforce rest periods, adjust assignments, and escalate patterns before incidents occur.
• Assign personnel to vehicles based on qualification, certification tier, and Hours of Service.
• Document and execute the night‑to‑day shift handoff, ensuring open issues and truck status are communicated.
• Serve as escalation point for in‑field and terminal issues, initiating incident response and coordinating with Dispatch.
• Run daily compliance checks, coordinate with Fleet Readiness to address mechanical or technical problems, and represent Waabi with customers and partners.

Required profile

• 2+ years in fleet operations, logistics, or transportation management.
• Proven leadership supervising CDL operators or shift‑based teams.
• Active Class A CDL preferred and strong understanding of Class 8 truck operations.
• Deep knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, especially Hours of Service.
• Experience in a technical or testing environment; autonomous‑vehicle exposure is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible night‑shift hours, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Proficiency with fleet management software, scheduling tools, and telematics platforms.
• Enhanced Inspection Protocol (EIP) certification or CVSA inspection training.
