Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for an experienced infrastructure engineer to help build Stream, a new conversational interface. You will develop a highly scalable real‑time production service that incorporates multiple steps of machine learning and data processing, working closely with mobile and firmware engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect a high‑uptime, low‑maintenance, reliable distributed inference system.
• Lead observability and on‑call responsibilities.
• Achieve very low latency and jitter with focus on P99 performance.
• Develop a safe rollout process in partnership with ML, software, and mobile engineers.
• Implement data pipelines for user‑facing features and internal tooling.

Required profile

• Proficient in Python and JavaScript.
• Experience shipping consumer‑facing interactive real‑time services.
• 2+ years owning a live production system in a small team serving a large user base.
• 2+ years working in large infrastructure teams (e.g., Google, Meta).
• Technical leadership for building robust processes with the team.
• Strong ownership of healthy live services.
