Senior Software Engineer, Compiler

About the role

Category Labs is seeking an exceptional compiler engineer to work on greenfield projects that accelerate bytecode execution. You will build a bytecode execution graph builder that enables speculative pre‑execution of potential control‑flow paths. The work involves intensive research and engineering to help a platform securing billions of dollars in value, without requiring prior crypto experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop performance‑oriented, greenfield projects in a fast‑moving startup environment.
• Research and prototype ideas for accelerating EVM bytecode execution.
• Design and implement high‑throughput production systems.

Required profile

• Proven track record in compiler design and system architecture.
• Strong background in software engineering principles.
• Experience with industry‑standard compiler technologies.
• Good understanding of testing and benchmarking.
• Industry or academic experience with compilers for parallel architectures.
• Strong C++ programming skills.
• Knowledge of type theory is a plus.
