Senior Director, Affordable Housing

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Senior Director to lead its affordable housing platform across the United States. The role will provide enterprise‑wide leadership, shaping strategy, compliance, and risk mitigation while scaling operational capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise strategy and operating model for affordable housing, positioning it as an integrated, scalable business line.
• Set vision and direction for operationalizing affordable housing requirements across processes, policies, contracts, and systems.
• Serve as senior strategist to executive, regional, and functional stakeholders, influencing decisions on operations, risk, growth, and investments.
• Oversee development, enhancement, and governance of affordable housing policies, SOPs, and manuals to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Expand and enhance Salesforce as the enterprise source of truth for program data, compliance obligations, and reporting.
• Partner with Systems Services and cross‑functional teams to define the affordable housing software stack and integrations.
• Drive implementation and adoption of tools, processes, and standards through change management.
• Lead a hybrid/regional model, supervising and developing regional leaders while fostering consistent standards.
• Provide strategic oversight of third‑party compliance vendors and external partners.
• Support acquisition due diligence related to affordable housing assets.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in real estate or affordable housing operations.
• Strong strategic thinking with ability to influence executive and regional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and govern policies, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams in a hybrid or regional operating model.
• Excellent change‑management and execution skills.
