Senior DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Category Labs is seeking a Senior DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to run the infrastructure behind its high‑performance, EVM‑compatible Layer 1 blockchain, Monad. You will keep a globally‑distributed fleet of validator, full‑node and archive nodes healthy, own the infrastructure‑as‑code stack, and pioneer AI‑driven operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the Monad node fleet across validators, full nodes, archive and indexer nodes on mainnet and testnet, handling health monitoring, upgrades, rollouts and incident response.
• Own and evolve the infrastructure‑as‑code tooling: Ansible for configuration, Terraform + Atlantis for cloud/DNS, and Kubernetes/Flux (GitOps) for platform services.
• Build and maintain observability and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana and Loki, creating dashboards that catch issues before they page.
• Automate release pipelines, including node upgrades, canary rollouts, snapshots and guardrails to limit blast radius.
• Design and implement AI‑agentic operations, developing tooling, runbooks‑as‑code and deterministic guardrails for autonomous agents.
• Codify operational knowledge into reusable tools, harden nodes, manage secrets and continuously reduce manual toil.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or Infrastructure Engineering operating production systems at scale.
• Strong Linux, systemd, networking and shell fundamentals; comfortable debugging live systems over SSH.
• Hands‑on experience with Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Proficiency with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana and Loki.
• Experience using AI‑assisted engineering tools (coding agents, LLMs) and judgment about their safe application.
• Ability to design automation with safety guardrails and provide calm, methodical incident response.
