Senior Advisor – Counter-Terrorism (French & English)

About the role

UNOPS is seeking a Senior Advisor on Counter‑Terrorism to support the activities of its Facility. The successful candidate will become UNOPS personnel, working under the organization’s full responsibility and collaborating with experts from the UNOPS roster on short‑term assignments and possible field deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and technical support on counter‑terrorism initiatives for Member States and the Facility.
• Coordinate with UNOPS experts and external partners to design and implement counter‑terrorism programmes.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor implementation progress.
• Prepare briefing notes, reports, and policy recommendations for senior UN officials.
• Support field missions and deployments as required by the Facility or requesting Member States.

Required profile

• Proven experience in counter‑terrorism, security policy, or related fields at a senior advisory level.
• Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work in multicultural, high‑pressure environments and travel for field assignments.
