School Nurse (Full‑time)

About the role

The Fay School is seeking a dedicated, benefits‑eligible School Nurse to join its Operations Team. Working Monday‑Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., the nurse will oversee the health and welfare of the student body throughout the academic year and an additional summer month.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate student health files, immunization records, and medication documentation in compliance with Texas state requirements.
• Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, administer short‑term and long‑term medications, and document all clinic visits confidentially.
• Conduct annual vision and hearing screenings, manage CPR/AED training for faculty, and supply first‑aid kits for classrooms and field trips.
• Manage the clinic budget, inventory of medical supplies, and the Fay School Nurse Handbook.
• Communicate health‑related incidents to families, school leadership, and the broader community in a timely manner.
• Support outdoor and experiential learning activities and participate in Operations Team meetings.

Required profile

• Current RN license and adherence to the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Experience maintaining electronic health records and medication logs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle confidential information.
• Willingness to use personal smartphone for school communication apps.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Magnus Health electronic health record system.
• CPR/AED certification.
