Quality Control Technician – Cement Production

About the role

Cemex is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Control Technician to ensure cement and ready‑mix products meet the highest quality standards. The role works closely with the Quality Control Supervisor, performing testing, monitoring compliance, and supporting plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all Cemex, OSHA, and MSHA safety policies and wear proper PPE.
• Perform ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI testing at cement and ready‑mix plants.
• Verify product compliance with quality specifications and report any deviations.
• Assist with product mix design and understand its impact on kiln processes.
• Maintain detailed records of tests and inspections and prepare related reports.
• Perform lab housekeeping and basic equipment maintenance.
• Train new team members and complete audits, inspections, and reports as required.
• Respond to callouts, participate in plant outages, and support other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in applied science or at least 2 years of cement plant experience.
• ASTM certification (or ability to obtain within the first year).
• 2–4 years of experience in a quality‑related role in the cement or heavy manufacturing industry.
• Preferred: associate degree or trade certification, military experience, or journeyman credentials.
