Purchasing Specialist – Manufactured Home Builder

About the role

Champion Home Builders is seeking a detail‑oriented Purchasing Specialist to support its manufactured home production operations in Athens, Texas. You will manage the end‑to‑end procurement process, ensuring the right materials are sourced at the right price and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Verify nomenclature and specifications for purchase requests.
• Prepare, issue, and follow up on Requests for Quotations (RFQs) with suppliers.
• Gather commodity market price data for reporting.
• Create and modify purchase orders and change notices based on inventory needs.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for policy compliance.
• Resolve invoice and payment issues with suppliers.
• Meet with vendors to discuss new products and existing orders.
• Maintain accurate price changes in coordination with accounting.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Understanding of supply‑chain and inventory‑management systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and follow company policies.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Manufactured‑housing or purchasing experience is desired but not mandatory.
