About the role
The Department of Global Communications is seeking a motivated Public Information Intern to support its Sustainable Development and Climate Section. This full‑time, on‑site internship offers hands‑on experience in UN communications, focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals and Climate Action Agenda.
Key responsibilities
- Track, research and analyse climate change and sustainable development topics from diverse sources.
- Draft and compile information products for print, broadcast and social‑media audiences.
- Conduct photo and graphic research to support communication materials.
- Assist in planning and executing communications campaigns and SDG‑related events.
- Maintain and update media and subscription mailing lists.
- Perform media monitoring and other tasks assigned by the Team Lead.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
- Field of study related to communications, environmental studies, international affairs, or a similar discipline.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French.

What we offer
- Unpaid, full‑time internship (35 hours/week) for 3 months with possible extension to 6 months.
- Direct supervision by the Chief of the Section and exposure to UN communication processes.
